An important outcome of this experience has been the understanding gained of student/ parent needs and aspirations and has shown that a child’s academic performance, physical health and behavior are dependent to a great extent upon his/her mental health.
Therefore, in order to provide better service to students, Vidya Mahamandal has launched a Psychology & Counseling Department.

VIDYA MAHAMANDAL is one of the few institutes in Maharashtra that offers this service for its students.

This Department primarily conducts three activities:

• Counselling and workshops for Parents, Children & Adolescents.

• Computerized Aptitude Testing & Career Guidance.

• Spot Admission & Coaching for the Distance Education Programmes of Institute of Behavioral & Management Sciences (IBMS)

COUNSELLING

Vidya Mahamandal’s in-house psychology department provides remedial, preventive and developmental counselling for children, adolescents, as well as for parents.

Regular group sessions are held for students and their parents from each class of Apte Prashala Students.

PERSONAL CAREER GUIDANCE AND APTITUDE TESTING

Apart from counselling, personal career guidance and aptitude testing is made available for Xth, XIth, & XIIth students. This testing is done trough the computerized “I-AM” Aptitude Test (developed by Chatur Computer and Jana Prabhodini, after 25 years of research & testing)

INSTITUTE FOR BEHAVIORAL & MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

The Psychology Department also provides spot-admission and coaching for the distance-education courses provided by the Institute for Behavioral & Management Sciences (IBMS).
This institute is a pioneer institute which offers the most prestigious courses in Psychology & Counselling since 1989.
