We have a single library for Secondary School, Junior
College and M.C.V.C. About 75 to 100 students regularly
take advantage of this library.
We have about 10,000 books covering
various faculties and fields. We have almost all reference
books . About 20 to 25 periodicals also are subscribed.
Periodicals besides regular reading, we use the periodicals
to update knowledge and for various schemes, examinations
etc.
For standards 5th to std 8th the government
of Maharashtra offers school books for free distribution
, which are distributed through our library.
We also provide guidance and help to
Teachers and students for various competitive examinations,
other competitions and hand-written booklets.
Like many other schools we provide
book boxes for class room reading. Selected books are
collectively read. This creates interest in reading
among the students.
Students are fond of reading ‘Kishor’,
Champak ‘Srishti-Dnayan’ and comics covering
different topics. During last year Mrs. Dedgaonkar offered
English Comics to the students of 9th standard. The
students acknowledged that those have been very useful
to them in studying history etc.
Students of 11th and 12th frequently
use the study room in the Library. We subscribe to various
periodicals containing materials useful for preparing
for competitive examinations in Engineering and Medicine.
Old issues are bound and kept for the benefit of the
students.
Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation have donated
6 issues of ‘Srishti’ a periodical on Nature
and Envirounment. A past student of 12th standard has
donated his books on CET .
We have good collection of Educational
CDs and Cassettes, which are frequently used. We plan
to allow students to take those to their homes for study.
We also plan to computerize the library, which presently
is in progress.
Classification of Library Books is
being done under decimal system.
Sectional lists of books have
been already made.
