Sharada Vidya Mandir, established in 1965 is the primary
school of Vidya Mahamandal.It had humble number of merely
23 students enrolled in the first year. With each respective
year, upper classes (up until the 4th standard) and
then divisions were added. With a small begining of
23 students, the school now has an enrolment of as many
as 775 students.
Teaching staff consists of enthusiastic and well trained
professionals.Teachers not only concentrate on completing
the sylllabus or the textbooks, but are very much committed
to teaching children good values and making them good
citizens.Many teachers volunteer to teach children Ramraksha,
eeta Adhyaya and so on. Students are also encouraged
to paricipate in extracurricular activites and competitions.
All festivals are celebrated with great fanfare in the
school.
Various schemes such as 'Opening
with joy-week, inter class/divisions competitions, students
quality development schemes, story telling, drawing
competitions, enlightenment programme for parents, Sarva-Shiksha
Abhiyan are conducted. Names of our students always
appear in Merit Lists for Scholarship every year.
1972 has been an important year in
the history of our school. Founder of 'Daily Sakal,'
Late Shri Nanasahib Parulekar paid visit to our institution.
Our school was renamed as 'Laxmanrao Apte
Prashala.', on this occassion. Late Shri Nanasahib praised
our work in this field and expressed hope that the
our institution shall remain committed to society's
upliftment. We have responded his call by conducting
various schemes such as ' Tree Plantation, cleanliness
drives, Chakachak gangs, providing food and shelter
to Warkaris and such other extra carricular activities.

So far 16 of our students have been awarded scholarships
of 'National Talent Search', while 22 students of
4 std have bagged scholarship awards. 6 students have
received honour of internation Olimpiad scholarship.
Many past students have become famous in the fields
of Art and Culture. 5 students are winners of 'Sa re
ga ma' a prestigeous award in Music. Another past student
'Yoges Dodke' is the winner of 'Hind Kesari', a national
title.
