of Dumb & Deaf.
Knowledge & learning is not reserved for favored few,
but it should reach every section of the society. With
this goal in view, Vidya Mahamandal started Centre for
Education, Research and Development for physically handicapped
children. It is necessary that education of such handicapped
is intensively undertaken. Our institution has made in
depth study on how such students shall overcome their
difficulty, and which is the proper trade/profession for
which they shall easily learn and start their own business.
We had decided to achieve the following:-
1. Develop special computer software which our dumb-deaf
students could easily operate and learn Computers.
2. with the help of computers, training of Desk Top Publishing.
3. Training Motor-winding and armature winding.
4. Train the Girl Students on cottage industries, arts
and craft which shall enable them toearn their livelihood
independently.
5. Establishing and conducting Rehabilitation centre for
physically handicapped.
6. Provide opportunities for appearing external students
for S.S.C. to such children. At
present we have 40 such dumb-deaf students.
Of this, 22 students are under training
in Motor rewinding. Other batch of
18 students is getting training in
DTP Computer. Both the courses are
recognised by Maharashtra Government. Vocational Education
Examination board of the state government evaluates
their skills and awards the Certificates to the successful
trainees.
Armed with such skills, they are in a position to start
their own business. Our institute provides necessary
guidance to such candidates. For starting own business,
and for obtaining financial assistance from Bank, it
is necessary to pass at least Board Examination of 10
th standard. We therefore provide necessary guidance
to the students to appear this examination as external
students.
We have provided separate team of teachers. We have
found that it it not enough to training and educating
alone is not enough for hearing impaired students.
To make them self supporting our institute has undertaken
their training in:-
1. Manufacturing and sale of Black
Phenyl
2. Assemble and sale Emergency lamps
3. Stitching of Garments and Sale thereof to traders
4. Manufacturing and sale of Divali lamps
5. Preparing on DTP small reports, letters etc.
We know, you too are very sensitive
and sympathetic on this social issue. You have trusted
us and generously provided help to us. We express our
gratitude for such visit our institute and see what
we are doing timely help. It is only because of such
help, life of hearing impaired persons is being strongly
improved. Our staff, our students and other shall be
pleased if socially conscious persons like you. We are
aware that you love us and our physically handicapped
students. We hope this pen friendship will strengthen
the love further.
